When a civilization shifts its focus towards indulging and catering to the weak, it marks the beginning of its decline. Rather than genuinely helping and inspiring the less fortunate to elevate themselves, it enables them to continue to engage in the very activities, behaviors, and mental states, that have perpetuated their failures. Such a society starts to erode the very foundations laid by those who, through their strength and fortitude, brought prosperity and the luxury to show leniency towards those less capable. Historically, the next step has always been to systematically undermine the achievements and potential of its strong. This is done in the name of "equality" and other simple minded terms, concepts, and expressions, meant to appeal to the ego and victimhood mentality of the weak and less fortunate.
Since greatness of any kind is relative to its comparison, and will therefore, always be an anomaly, the weak and average will naturally make up the majority. It then follows, that in governing systems like democracies, where individual votes have weight, the motive to manipulate and take advantage of the weak for personal gain is considerable.
Catering to the weak, while seemingly altruistic, unveils deeper undercurrents of imbalance and misguidance within a civilization's core values. The transition is subtle and elusive, appealing to the self-interest of the masses through deceptive psychological tactics. The majority begin to be referred to as the minority after being divided into every possible grouping imaginable, with the intention to create a feeling of uniqueness and pride in the subject. After this "uniqueness" is elevated and pedestalized in a variety of ways, which is invariably attributed to something one has no control over, such as skin color, race, religion, sexual preference, and so on, the subject feels "empowered" by the ideology and so, becomes loyal to it and those promoting it on the front lines. Make no mistake, this is an insidious attempt by the psychopaths of the times to empower themselves at the cost of watching the world burn, which to them, is no cost at all.
So, a society moves away from promoting universal strength and resilience, but excellence and high achievement is not just undervalued once this happens, eventually it is penalized. Historically, this pivot has never acknowledged the complexity of human potential and the necessity of a spectrum, where both, support for the weak and encouragement for the strong coexist in harmony. This is because such intention cannot be there from those whom would enact such a devious scheme. Such individuals are predators; vampires of our species, feeding on the life blood, both physically and spiritually, of those they resemble through camouflage; like chameleons, lurking in the shadows, preying on the unsuspecting.
Consider how this approach breeds a culture of dependency, where the incentive for individual improvement and societal contribution wanes under the comforting yet stifling umbrella of collective mediocrity. This results in an environment where the zeal for competition, innovation, and personal growth is subdued, leading to a stagnation that affects all echelons of society. Why? What's in it for those who come to power through this ploy? Since we have uncovered the fingerprints of psychopathy all over it, the logical deduction is that this is how they fortify their positions. By keeping the majority unconsciously dependent on them, while creating immeasurable obstacles for the clever and strong to overcome in order to challenge their power, the psychopaths rig every aspect of society in their favor. What's more, this very explanation can only be considered by those committed to personal responsibility and self-improvement, as it reveals the manipulation of the weak willed and weak minded, leaving little room to win them over while pointing to their inadequacies. Therefore, the situation is even more dire, as those with the potential power to challenge the corruption are so few.
Nevertheless, the critiques and arguments in this piece do not favor an abandonment of the weak, or a ruthless meritocracy that only celebrates the victors. Instead, a return to a balanced ethos, where support systems for the less fortunate are designed to ignite the latent potential within each individual without fostering dependency. Such systems would prioritize empowerment over entitlement, encouraging all members of society to aspire towards their highest capabilities while ensuring the ladder of opportunity is accessible to everyone. For this to be in the realm of possibility, a society must first be reminded of its vulnerabilities, and likelihood to perish if its members are weak or if it is grossly mismanaged. This reality has to be carved into the fears and nightmares of every citizen, followed by a simple presentation of the obvious solution, with an intention to reach everyone: strong, capable men, with a high moral code, rooted in humanistic values. Such men are loyal protectors like sheep dogs, guarding against the very predators that would mislead an entire population to their slaughter. There is a way to support the rise of such exceptional men.
The strength of a civilization can be measured by how effectively it can harness the potential of all its citizens, turning the weak into strong contributors through pathways of growth, education, and empowerment. This nuanced approach leads to progress by every metric through the collective uplifting of its members. Indeed, it is the responsibility of the strong to protect and care for the less fortunate, however, protection comes at a price; a debt to be repaid to all of society through the willingness and striving to make oneself valuable and useful to the collective as a show of gratitude.
In order to support the rise of exceptional men, there is but one path—the pursuit of truth; the king on the chessboard of human endeavor. Modern society has abandoned its king, favoring instead a rook's rapid advance into relativism. The conviction that the search for the best or ideal way is not just futile, but dangerous, represents a strategic capitulation to ease over excellence. It has become mainstream to believe that to declare one path superior to another is the first step towards the abyss of intolerance and discrimination. This argument, however potent in maintaining a façade of harmony, facilitates profound disorientation by encouraging the individual to craft reality on the fly, untethered from enduring truths.
The nature of life itself—like the immutable laws of physics—punishes those who stray too far from its fundamental principles. Exceptional men do not build their philosophy on the shifting sands of impulse or societal approval; they anchor their ethos in the bedrock of natural law and personal virtue, which remains steadfast regardless of the prevailing winds of cultural change. Exceptional men are molded into greatness by a process of initiation; a step by step guide designed by the greats before them. A process, not a journey through trial and error, and lots of time wasted.
Since many of the pertinent questions about the nature of reality have already been answered in a compelling and practical way by our ancestors, it is worth exploring here first, especially in the absence of mentors. It is not in spite of a failing society, but because of it, that the rebirth of great and exceptional men becomes increasingly probable. One's potential is revealed like an immune system reacting to a strong virus; without direct threat and genuine danger, it appears to be dormant, and yet, when it is time, the heroes among us will emerge.
